Oh Captain, my Captain!

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately...  I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life! To put to rout all that was not life... And not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived...

Bohemian Rhapsody

For the last month and a half, I swear the stars aligned to mess with my head. My schedule became so tight, that more often than not I had to literally run from one appointment to another. All at the same time, I started statistics classes (so that I could pass my exam), I became web journalist for HB and my colleague went to vacation for two weeks so I had more job to do than ever before (and that's just a part of what was going on). Speaking of tight timetable, I had to squeeze my bday celebration in 3 hours straught! Literally, I had three hours before I had to rush to statistics class. There were many moments when I would laugh at my rotten luck. I didn't even get annoyed, it was beyond ridiculous the way Marfi screwed with me. Finally, it coincided that Harper's BAZAAR first anniversary party was the night before my exam... like seriously? Who's doing that to me and why? Before, I would go bananas and cancel everything, but not anymore. Party the night before an important exam? Challenge accepted! Of course I passed it (like a boss)! Go ahead Marfi, what else do you have in store for me? I can take anything!

Summer in the city

Ever since I came back from Greece, I can't stop fantasizing about living by the seaside. It was never my thing before, 10 days by the sea in the summer were usually more than enough (even when I was a kid), but now it really started to grow on me. Being so casual about my clothes, and hair and (non-existing) makeup is just one of the things I brought back with me.

I don't think I have ever been this stressed out, ever in my life. I'm very busy at work, I have two exams this week, day after day, and then on the third day I'm off to have a vacation, that has become a source of stress as well because I have no idea when I'm going to have time to pack. Having so much to squeeze in so little time, my head is spinning, and I have a hard time silencing my thoughts. I try my best not to panic, but I get anxiety attacks from time to time. Yesterday evening I literally froze, I couldn't breathe and couldn't read a single word... so I watched two episodes of Devious Maids and felt just a little better afterwards.
I try to breathe deep, I meditate, listen to the music I love and envision my goals as vividly as possible, because I need motivation to keep going. But the truth is, I really need to dip my ass into salty sea water, until then - I'm just surviving.
Tell me, how do you cope with stress?

Boho Chic

It's funny how, even when you think you finally have your style and aesthetics figured out, it can still dramatically change in just few months. So, even though boho is (and will remain) one of my favorite styles in fashion, at the moment I'm kind of tired of colors, patterns and statement jewelry pieces. I guess it's because in the last couple of years major trends were color blocking, floral prints, statement necklaces, bold colors, and over time one can really become overly saturated with those things. All I want is clean lines, not many details and no colors (ok, camel and baby blue can go, but in small doses). This change is visible not only in the way I dress lately, but also in the way I arrange my living space. But that's another story :). Thes photos were taken last November, and I'm not sure if this would be my choice at the moment, but still it does portray one side of my personality.
